I was going wherever my eyes were going - just to disconnect from everything that buzzes, flashes, hurries.
And then the forest. The smell of resin, the rustling of pine needles underfoot, and the total feeling like I was in another dimension where everything breathes slowly.
I sat down on this bench almost by accident, but the moment proved to be an assembly point.
Suddenly I caught myself smiling... at myself, at the wind, at the silence.
A squirrel ran nearby, an owl hooted somewhere in the distance.
And at that moment I had a wild desire for someone to sit next to me. Not necessarily talking. Just to be.
Sometimes we so desperately need someone's silent presence. Someone who will just feel the same thing, all at once, in the same moment.
I still think - what would have happened if you had been there then? What would we have said after that silence...?
